INTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

General Information

JOSKA: Jurnal ISORI Kampar publishes original scholarly work in the field of sports science, physical education, exercise science, and related disciplines. Manuscripts must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration in any other journal during the review process. All submissions must conform to the journal’s aims and scope.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Please ensure that your submission meets the following criteria before uploading your files:

  1. The manuscript has not been published previously and is not under review elsewhere.
  2. The manuscript file is in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.
  3. The main text is in 12-pt font, single spacing, and A4 format.
  4. Illustrations and tables are embedded in the manuscript in appropriate locations.
  5. Graphic materials are high resolution suitable for printing (minimum 600 dpi).
  6. The manuscript adheres to the formatting, citation, and stylistic requirements outlined in these instructions.
  7. The submission includes all required ancillary documents (e.g., cover letter, Statement of Originality).

Language and Editing

Manuscripts must be written in clear and grammatically correct English. Authors are responsible for professional editing or proofreading before submission. Poorly written manuscripts may be returned without review.

Manuscript Categories

The following types of articles are accepted:

  • Original Research Articles – reports of empirical studies and new findings.
  • Review Articles – comprehensive analyses of current knowledge on a topic.
  • Short Communications – brief reports of significant research findings.

Manuscript Preparation

All manuscripts should be prepared in the following structure:

  • Title: Concise and informative.
  • Authors’ Names and Affiliations
  • Corresponding Author: Include email and ORCID if available.
  • Abstract: 150–300 words summarizing purpose, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: 3–7 words reflecting core content.

References and Citation Style

References must be cited in the text and listed at the end of the manuscript. JOSKA adopts the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th edition style. Ensure that all references are complete and properly formatted.

Figures and Tables

All figures and tables must be clear, labelled, and numbered consecutively. Include captions for all figures and titles for all tables. Ensure that figures and tables are referenced in the text.

Ethical Considerations

Authors must adhere to the principles of ethical research and publication. Manuscripts involving human subjects must include ethical approval information. All research must be conducted in accordance with recognized ethical guidelines. Any suspected ethical violations (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication) will be handled according to COPE guidelines.

Authorship and Contributions

Authorship should reflect substantial contributions to the research. All authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to be accountable for the content. The corresponding author handles all communications with the journal and ensures compliance with administrative and ethical requirements.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may influence the research outcomes. If no conflicts exist, a statement declaring this must be included.

Peer Review and Decision

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process involving at least two independent experts. The editorial decision will be based on reviewer feedback, relevance to the journal’s scope, and adherence to ethical standards. Authors may be asked to revise and resubmit according to reviewer comments.
